Washington Nationals opening day weather forecast: Trending drier

With a potentially rainy few days in store for the D.C. region during the early and middle portion of this week, the forecast for Monday’s home opener at Nationals Park had been a dicey one. But now, confidence is rising that the Nats should be able to get this game in, and it may even be mostly dry.

Here’s our latest forecast:

Nationals vs. Pirates: 4:05 p.m., Monday April 1, Nationals Park

Monday morning’s showers should be mostly done in D.C. by 1:30 p.m. or so, with just an isolated shower or two possible during the rest of the afternoon into at least early evening. Shower chances don’t look to increase again until later this evening.

First pitch: Mostly cloudy, isolated shower possible. Low 60s.

9th inning: Mostly cloudy, isolated shower possible. Upper 50s to near 60.

Chance of rain: 35 percent

Chance of delay: 25 percent

Chance of postponement: 5 percent
