Shenk to lead evening streaming; Conway to join 10/11 as morning, noon anchor

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – 10/11 Morning Anchor Danielle Shenk will soon transition to a new role as the Evening Digital Executive Producer and Streaming Anchor. In her new position, Shenk will continue to enhance the rapidly growing 10/11 NOW Streaming brand, delivering breaking news, the latest headlines and new exclusive streaming segments to 10/11′s digital platforms throughout the day. Additionally, she will provide updates from the streaming studio for the evening newscasts and fill in on the anchor desk.

“Our station has been laser-focused on building new audience through our 10/11 NOW Streaming Studio as a top priority since early 2023,” said 10/11′s Director of News & Innovation Mikel Lauber. “Danielle has built the Morning Pulse into our most successful regular streaming segment. There’s no one better equipped to find new ways to deliver the area’s top-rated news content to a changing audience.”

Shenk will collaborate with daytime Digital Executive Producer and Meteorologist Bill Rentschler. Both are seasoned local journalists dedicated full-time to streaming. Streaming video on 10/11′s digital platforms, including the 10/11 NOW mobile apps, connected TV apps and 1011now.com, has eclipsed the daily reach of any single traditional newscast in the market.

“I’m thrilled to embrace this new role and pioneer the expansion of our 10/11 digital footprint to new heights,” said Shenk. “In the digital era, having content ready for people on the go and at the touch of a button is a must. We’ve already seen so much success with Morning Pulse and other segments from the Streaming Studio, so I’m honored to be at the forefront of our digital streaming efforts.”

As Shenk moves to her new role, veteran news anchor Megan Conway will join the 10/11 News team as anchor of 10/11 This Morning and 10/11 News at Noon. Conway has been with local ABC affiliate KLKN since 2014, working in multiple roles in the newsroom. She left the station at the end of May after spending the last eight years as evening anchor.

“Megan is an accomplished journalist, and it’s clear she is driven to continue to serve viewers in Lincoln and across Nebraska,” Lauber said. “Most importantly, Megan has built a reputation of trust in our community, which aligns perfectly with the culture at 10/11. We are excited and proud to welcome her to the area’s #1 news team.”

Conway will join veteran Meteorologist Brad Anderson, co-anchor Craig Allison and reporter Chanel-Taylar McCarthy on the area’s top-rated morning show.

“I’m grateful and excited for the opportunity to continue serving our community,” said Conway. “It’s a privilege to do the job I love in my home state, and I want to thank the viewers for their trust. My passion for journalism and Nebraska burns brightly.”

Danielle Shenk and Megan Conway will both begin their new roles on Monday, July 15.
