North Country dealing with severe flooding and storm damage


Parts of New Hampshire’s North Country are dealing with substantial flooding and storm damage.There were reports of washed-out roads, downed trees and wires and people being rescued in areas including Littleton, Monroe, Dalton and Lancaster.In Littleton, a section of Dells Road was flooded and according to Littleton Fire Rescue, Dells Brook is at capacity. Officials said West Main Street was closed north of Dells Road due to damage from a possible microburst. Meadows Street, which leads to the Littleton Walmart, was also flooded. Dalton Fire Rescue said the area between Union Road and Cushman Brook is gone. Officials said there is so much damage that some people are trapped with no way out.At last check, there were no reports of any storm-related injuries in Grafton or Coos counties.
