Dear Students,

We hope this message finds you well. We are writing to inform you about an important policy regarding applying for a U.S. visitor visa from Curaçao.

It has come to our attention that students in MD 1 and 4 semesters may be considering applying for a U.S. visitor visa from Curaçao. Please be advised that applying for a visitor visa from Curaçao before you have completed two years of basic sciences may lead to a high likelihood of rejection. Such a rejection could jeopardize your future opportunities for clinical rotations in the United States.

To avoid this risk, we strongly advise you to refrain from applying for a U.S. visitor visa from Curaçao during your initial semesters. The university will not be responsible for any rejections, nor will we be able to support your visa application if you choose to apply from Curaçao at this time.

If you wish to visit the U.S. before completing the two-year basic sciences program, please apply for the visa from your home country. Note that the university will not provide any support documents for such applications. We recommend you use this time wisely to focus on your studies, which will enable you to qualify for clinical rotations in the U.S. as soon as possible.

For students who already have a U.S. visitor visa and need to renew it, we also recommend following the same guidelines.
