Julia Roberts to Narrate Audiobook of Lisa Marie Presley’s Posthumous Memoir
Julia Roberts will narrate the audiobook of Lisa Marie Presley’s posthumous memoir, From Here to the Great Unknown, it was announced Wednesday.
The actress will narrate alongside Presley’s daughter, Riley Keough, who helped complete the book following Presley’s death.
The audiobook will also feature never-before-heard selections from the personal tapes Presley recorded as she prepared to write the book.
In a statement Roberts said, “I was so moved by Lisa Marie’s incredible memoir. It was a real privilege to give voice to her wild and beautiful life and I deeply appreciate Riley entrusting me with her mother’s story.”
“I’m so thrilled to have Julia be a part of this and read the voice of my mother. I couldn’t think of anyone more perfect to help share her story with the world,” Keough added.
Random House notes that prior to Presley’s death in 2023, Presley had asked Keough to help her finish her long-gestating memoir. After Presley’s unexpected death, Keough listened to tapes her mother had recorded for the book, which included stories about Graceland, her relationship with her mother, Priscilla Presley, life in the public eye, marriages to Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage and the loss of her son, Riley’s brother Benjamin Keough.
Amanda D’Acierno, president of Penguin Random House audio, global, said, “Lisa Marie Presley’s one-of-a-kind memoir deserves an equally exceptional talent, and we are thrilled that Julia Roberts is lending her extraordinary gifts to this poignant production. Julia’s performance adds a profound depth to this heartfelt story of mother and daughter. Combined with Riley Keough’s narration and the intimate recollections from Lisa Marie’s personal tapes, this audiobook promises to be an unforgettable experience for listeners.”
Random House Audio will release the audiobook of From Here to the Great Unknown on Oct. 8.
