Chloë Sevigny Recalls Bringing Her Best Brat Attitude to Charli XCX’s “360” Music Video

Chloë Sevigny is looking back on her ultimate Brat Summer, having starred in Charli XCX‘s “360” music video.

The Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story actress recently stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where the host asked her about her cameo in the star-studded video for one of the biggest songs of the summer.

“Honestly, I didn’t know much about her [Charli XCX]. I had seen her, like, all over my Instagram. All the girlies, all the kids loved her. And I was like, ‘Who is this Charli XCX?’ And then they told me who else was going to be in the video, and I was like, ‘Rachel Sennott? I’m in.’ I’m like, I adore that person. I’m in love with her.”

The music video’s lineup included Sennott, Sevigny, Julia Fox, Emma Chamberlain, Quenlin Blackwell and Chloe Cherry, among others. As for Sevigny’s cameo, she’s seen getting out of a black car, wearing a black ensemble with a cigarette in hand, as she joins Charli XCX walking down the street.

When Jimmy Fallon later asked her if Charli told her what Brat Summer meant, the Feud: Capote vs. The Swans actress responded, “I asked the director, I was like, ‘So, what’s the mood? What’s the vibe in the video? How should I act?’ And he’s like, ‘Just act like a brat.’ I was like, ‘A brat?’ I mean, I have a 4-year-old. I know what a fucking brat is (Laughs).”

Sevigny continued, “I can do brat, but I said, ‘I would rather do attitude, you know. I think I’m too old to be a brat.’ I was like, ‘Let’s do sexy attitude.’”

After figuring out her version of Brat, the Big Love star said the whole experience “was super fun,” adding, “You got to keep it alive. Keep it fresh.”

Sevigny was also filming Netflix’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story in Los Angeles at the same time and said her co-star Cooper Koch (who portrayed Erik Menendez) told her, “You have to do it,” and so she did.
