16-Year-Old Boy Shot Dead by Suspected Gunmen on Scooters in Harlem – NYCFREEDOMNEWS.TV
October 24, 2024 MANHATTAN, New York – Authorities say a teenager was shot and killed with a stray bullet also striking a ride share vehicle in Harlem overnight. Police search for suspects as investigation continues into Thursday afternoon.
According to the NYPD, early Thursday morning at around 1:37 a.m., officers responded to a shooting where they located 16-year-old Clarence “CJ” Jones seriously injured.
The teen was found shot in the chest outside of a TD Bank next to Whole Foods near W 124th Street & Malcolm X Boulevard.
CJ was rushed by EMS to Harlem Hospital but could not be saved and was pronounced deceased.
The driver of a ride share vehicle was operating his vehicle near the area of the shooting when his car was struck by a stray bullet, cops said,
A single bullet hole could be seen in the shattered front passenger window of the ride share that reportedly occurred a few blocks away where the teen was shot.
Paramedics checked on the driver for a possible graze wound at W 116th Street & Malcolm X Blvd, where the man stopped his car and waited for emergency response workers.
No arrests at this time. The NYPD is searching for two shooting suspects that were riding electric scooters who fled on W 125th Street following the deadly incident.
